Back Again

Back again

Well I am back again with loads of new things happened in my life..
well not really loads but one thing happened which seems like the biggest load ever, my wedding happened last Aug .I couldn’t believe that its already been 7 months I am married and lot of things are changed in my life .More importantly I think I am changed and became quite busy which is good.
I moved to New Jersey in Nov and took time off, relaxed, been a good wife ( cooked twice daily, cleaned home daily:)),I had so many plans when I was moving from Denver, I told my friends that I will go to gym regularly, will go for shopping when I am bored ( mall is just in front of my building :)).The first month just passed by very quickly as we used to spend most of the time shopping for my new apartment.
But then after that I realized that I am not the type of person who can enjoy by sitting at home and that too in a new place with no friends around and more over I was never alone.. Gosh my TV was best friend though and winter added to it. Being so sensitive to cold weather, I didn’t even feel like going out. Many people ask me like "You were from Denver and still you are not used to cold weather". What can I say, everybody is unique and God has given this unique quality to get cold a little more than normal people do .How I wish to settle in Atlanta or Florida one day. God please make my wish come true!!!
Coming back to my journey, after sitting at home for month, I desperately wanted a job and luckily there was an opening in Dec also and I joined in that company in PA though it’s like 45 miles away from my home. Then the new challenges began, taking a train and then a cab to office. I don’t know why, though being a proactive in all the aspects, I was lazy to give a driving test and now facing the gut out of it. Finally one day I thought of giving the test and realized I misplaced my H1B document and that added to my luck. But my office is a nice work place with free lunch and breakfast, nice bunch of people to work with and more importantly "no micromanagement"
I have always liked east coast better than other places as I have lot of friends and family around in just 2 or 3 hours drive. Surprisingly, every week somebody or the other, people who come from Denver for some reason to NJ, came down to see me and It’s such a good feeling as though seeing relatives from maternal side.
Married life has been good so far with nice ,cool and loving husband .It’s always nice to know that one person will always be there for you, to love you and care for you and I think ,with all the blessings ,I am handling all the challenges well which are quite common in the first year of marriage. I was the person who vowed not to change and everything such as change in priorities happened so quickly but that also feels good somehow.
Everybody says that, there would be lot of responsibilities after wedding, but for me to now it is an additional phone call to my in laws which is great as in getting extra warmth and love. Hope this continues 

During war..

Every time I start writing my blog, I think of writing some general topics or some informative stuff which would be helpful but you can find the same in Wikipedia as well… But then I realize that I am writing my blog for myself , for putting my thoughts and now a days there is no time to think about anybody or anything but myself my future .. Though I feel like I am thinking too much about the things which are not in our hands and which has to be taken as life grants, I couldn’t help it..
Well this weekend , went for shopping but couldn’t find anything worth after roaming about 7 hours and Sunday as usual went for grocery soon after getting up and went to frnd’s place and had some good homemade mooli ka parathas and Gobi ki parathas…well even got myself praised for making good dosas,, ;-) (as rest of the people being from north and can’t make good ones..My talent is recognized)

Today I was speaking to my school friend after 10 long years but I felt nothing weird or like a stranger though it is quite long since we last spoke ,talking about school days , I felt so nice bringing back old memories...They were commenting on my attitude and my things as I used to bring all foreign stuff, pens, pencils ,chocolates to school as my father used to stay abroad.. Funny isn’t it…
Staying abroad, being brought up in a luxurious manner...Everything is fine but there are days in my life which is full of tension, there was a war declared where Riyadh was made as the starting point. Though there is no school, my dad has still had to go to office...And whenever there is a bomb alert , there used a alarm in the TV..There used to be precautions to be taken care of like..Everybody should get into one room and seal it with tapes so that the hazardous substances don’t enter… There should be a wet cloth always by the side in order to help yourself when fire broke out and a oxygen gas mask is given like the one astronauts wear for the oxygen supply when bomb explodes..All the exports and imports were at halt, prices increased and there was always limited quantity of dal, rice which were sold as there is no import of it ,There used to a siren in the TV and at the end of each street and none should come out until it dies..Though I was quite young at that time, I can still remember the tension, the fear in people’s face particularly my mom’s who is a scary cat and gets frightened for even small things also..
I remember going back to India crossing some countries like Abu Dhabi in a bus then taking a flight as there were no flights traveling to other countries except for war flights which are huge and frightening..All I can say is, if things are good you will be happy but there can be things which we can’t handle and we should be bold enough to face them as well. Even at that time only I and my mom came back while my dad still stayed back. I don’t know what they thought and what their parents would have thought in their minds but now if I am in the same situation, my parents definitely for sure, they wouldn’t have allowed me to stay back.
But once my family came back to India to settle down , as a kid things were not easy for me as in not able to speak my mother tongue properly, couldn’t read or write my 2nd language which is my mother tongue. Telugu exam used to be an exam for my mother who has to take lot of effort to get me some pass marks and used to get scoldings from my telugu teacher as my sis used to score well (disgusting she is in 2nd and me in 8th learning her syallbus+mine, obviously she will score more...),…and rest o the students see at you like an alien for some months thinking that you are acting so much ,not talking local language etc,… Then after sometime I was able to learn the language which made my life easier…well now that I have come a long way and there is lots more.. now that I get applauds for my way of speaking Telugu .I really thank my parents for inducing proper kind of behavior and sentiments because of which helped me cope up with the society and bare with it..…After all said..I feel …everything is planned and it will be executed in the same manner if you like or don’t like..

College life..the best

I am having a chat with my cousin and he is working on some webpage and he wants to put down his 24 years of life and then I realized that even I have lived 24 years and going to complete my 25th soon..
When I look back, recall my memories, so many things crossed my mind both happy and sorrow ...Though its 5 years since I have graduated from college...My memories are still so vivid and so fresh that I can feel them happening in front of my eyes...
I don’t even know where to start and to whom to start with… Though there are different phases of life, I think, I have enjoyed my college life the most. I can still remember the day when I went to Coimbatore to get an admission in the ECE engineering because of this one sole reason ECE, I went that far else I would have got into any college near my hometown. Now I don’t even remember what a diode or a transistor is… sometimes its funny when I think that I have taken a lot of interest and effort in getting into it but now landed up somewhere else doing some funny stuff on the computer…
To talk about life in Coimbatore, it is so different, beautiful weather all round the year, wonderful hospitality of kovai people, nice temples, 2 hours from ooty, and lots of flowers, educational city, and industrial city as well. Women and college going girls still put flowers in their hair; they still put bindi, kumkum on their face. Unlike metropolitan cities, the tradition still exists. They have a lot of respect for elders by calling them anna(brother) and akka(sister) irrespective of their social status which is highly appreciated.
As my college being a Hindu missionary , though strict , it has taught a lot, to believe in God, to thank God Everyday,to respect ur professors, to be punctual ( as we should have 90% attendance) .Even the view is very beautiful which is one of the reasons to chose it., There is a big stretch of Nilgiri mountains behind and coconut farms in the front view.. Sometimes the clouds used to come so near that, we feel like as though we can touch it or grab it...Though there are some things which we couldn’t stand like bad food which is quite nutritious( Our chairperson is world wide renowned 'amma avargal' in the field of food and nutrition..;-) ),college and hostel used to be full of fun.. It being a deemed university and girls college... There used to be gals from all over India but everybody are quite fond of each other irrespective of the region barriers which made me a liberal minded, warm and friendly person.
Living far from family where you don’t even have relatives and in a different environment with different culture where u have to depend on only friends. Lucky me...I had couple of my school friends with me particularly Lahari without whom I wouldn’t have thought of staying there...that really taught me the value of people and friends, to share, to respect others feelings, to adjust to different mentalities and surroundings, behave with proper attitude, competitive spirit which will not hinder friendship and lastly, not the least, the sole purpose why we are there... to study...To score well is never left behind.
I can still remember the days when we came out of college hostel and started residing in a private hostel, again new people, and some really wonderful girls whom I will never forget in my life. I know a girl who used to be my roommate who became my best friend;a very really sweet person...I never saw her getting mad at me, making weird faces or complaining for unnecessary things. I have learned to be patient, think upon the situation and to think twice before speaking. She is so down to earth, no ego feelings though utterly beautiful... She is awesome...I just want to say, Anitha thanks for being a part of my life... Thanks for being my friend…
Some real good friends, late night talks, making fun of each other...Celebrating frnd’s bdays...Particularly one of my frnd’s bday happened when we went for a fun trip to ooty and we reached there quite late...there were 3 of us searched almost all the ooty shops for a cake and finally managed with some tea cake and chocolates…that was psyche going out knowing nothing abt the place in chill weather at night…quite scary if I think of it now..This credit goes to Gowthami who is quite daring giving thunderous looks with her big eyes..:) buddus u rock..
Things used to be so funny, like most of my friends use me like an alarm as I am very poor sleeper who wakes up even for very small sounds...Then comes the exams, .as usual we think of studying everything beforehand which never happens and ends up in one day batting .As it is a private hostel, we used to have gals from different colleges whose exam dates differ from ours..So there comes real friendship... hehhehe... Everybody used to share the portion and explain to us so that we can score pass marks... Trips to ooty , kovai kutralam falls, temples and more importantly not to forget our vacations and train journeys to home together in one train …are so memorable. There used to be a Kerala express which starts from Kerala with final destination to be Delhi... so around 150 or 200 of us use to board the same train with different destinations when we used to go home for holidays... It used to be full of fun, comments, pulling legs…best moments of my life...
There used to be gals from ooty with good educational background who are quite broad minded doing some tourism management...I really want to appreciate them in pursuing some different course with a different motive in life. These gals used to be a barrel of monkeys who r quite boisterous and yet so helpful expecially when our cheques come late ( particularly Indra(my landlady) who didnt even have a bank account and will have some 10k or 15k in her bag for surviving 6 months probably..).., it used to be like in the month starting, we used lead a luxurious life going to big restaurants, movies and... If it is bourbon biscuits in the month starting, it used to be tiger biscuits in the month ending...now though we have lots of money in hand... we still are not satisfied and continuously search for a better life which is ridiculous but cant help it…
There used to be regional feelings and fights in the mess to watch TV, as some opt for Hindi and some opt for Tamil…but at the end of the day, everything is forgotten which is the best part..
Almost all of my friends are quite easy going and doesnt take things to heart which is very nice and that helped to sustain good relationships..
There used to be days where we used to come late to hostel and say some cock and bull stories to my warden to enter inside the hostel crossing PEGGY( the Dog) ... I remember one day when my friend just joined our hostel and then we decided to have coffee in the ‘coffee day’...So went all the way in a bus to have it... Then lost the way... But then after some struggle asking locals about directions ( When we ask people who travels in bus about coffee day shop, who will know it..my bad..) ...finally made it… but then we realized that its quite late and we gotta go back soon... and as we decided on that, rain started pouring down and to our bad luck , there were no autos in the sight ..again my bad..So we just went just like that with no umbrella in the heavy rain, dripping wet ,but had to make a story again but even that failed as my warden’s daughter was also there in that shop whom we didn’t notice … so got a bash...Huh... Tiresome day... But had a good laugh at our adventure after going upstairs...
There used to be some 10 gals in our hostel and some 10 -15 close frnds in collg who used to hangout together...We used to go for movies 'hindi movies' with those who dont understand it and pass on a running commentary disturbing other people...but never caring about it ..shoooot I was this crap!!!..Industrial tour to Chennai, industrial training in PRICOL, the leading auto meters company in Asia were all so informative and the days are cherish able..
I will never forget priyas who helped me all through the journey in Coimbatore...The beautiful Gujarati temple, particularly Ganesha temple where we can see the aarthi even when u just pass by that temple.Archie's gallery where we spent all of our savings buying gifts..project works...

Though there are lots and lots more...Well I think now it’s time to pen "down"...
I wish all the happiness for everybody..

Thank you God...!!!

Here I go again,

After a long time being out of ideas and not knowing what to put in , here I am with nothing interesting happening, routine life which is quite boring at times when I think where I am hitting on..
sometimes scary though, when I think where I would land up.
But today I sincerely want to thank God for giving me such a wonderful life and gr8 friends.. I realized it recently after meeting couple of people who are completely different from me having different thoughts, ambitions more importantly
'the difference which I cant stand' and if I would have met them earlier. May be.. I couldn’t have handled them and my life would have been miserable.
Though I don’t know how my future would be.. to now.. I have so many wonderful people in my life without whom I wouldn’t have been this happy person...

I thank God for giving me the best family in the world, who will not force me into anything I don’t like and who guides me the right direction and to love me ,to be there with me the whole of my life.
Life has taught me so many things. In my opinion, everything can be achieved, ur aim, ambition, loved ones... But everything is possible only if you have patience.

Sometimes we just have to keep faith in God and wait for the right things to happen.

Sometimes when I get frustrated, I think of quitting my job and curse myself for coming so far … but then I forget that.. I cant sit at home for long. This staying far from family helped me really to become bold and think of one, ah thinking! These days am not even getting a break… which I cant even help, Virgo by destiny ;-)

These days, some times I even think that I should have done my school and college in some local areas and get married at 20 years or so..which would have shut my mind from so many flowing thoughts and which wouldn’t have given me the scope to think about my future or career and which would have shut my freedom and increase the dependency on someone even to buy a new dress…Instead of going so far for studying which helped me to learn to live on my own , mingle with people, sharing and caring for others or working in different places which helped me earn my bread and butter ..Wow!!!

Well, they say everything happens for a reason, and I don’t know why some things happen to make ur life miserable ,May be becoz u have to dig through so many stones to find gold.. lets c..wass gonna happen.. !!!

Like the Thought..

Many times we see ourselves in depths of life. We look around, only to find that we are alone. We look down, only to know that we are down at the deepest point in life. We look up, only to know that the whole world is on the top. And then we give up. Give up without thinking what we can learn.

We need to know that - only when we have seen the deepest points of life, we would be able to appreciate the peaks of life, what life can offer and what we can possibly achieve.

When we are down, don't give up on yourself. At this moment, every step that you take... lifts you up. It does.

Wonders of the world

Well, finally sat down to write again...
Its weekend again, days are just flying.it has been 2 years now since I came to united states and I dont realize it,Days have passed so fast that it is surprising if I think about it and the journey I have been through.
Life has its ups and downs but again, its life.. it will be like that.
The weather this weekend is awesome, its bright and sunny...the snow has completely melt but as i am little sick,
I couldnt afford to go out. But I have spent time at home getting good sleep, watching nice movies.
Sometimes, it is weird that we feel that we dont have anybody around, boring day..not knowing wat to do,scolding ourselves being landed up here
and sometimes, we feel like we have lot of things to do and dont even have time to see whether there are any body around us
and sometimes it is , we need our space, we dont want anybody to disturb us and we get busy in doing things which please us.
well, the good thing is there is a difference .. it is not same thing happening ,sometimes more fun. sometimes laid back happily.

yesterday i watched a movie "When in Rome" which is released in 2004 I guess. It is a cute movie and it has shown the beautiful Rome in a much beautiful manner.
I wish someday I will travel all over Europe..Venice,Spain,Rome,Paris.. every part of it.
Some places are so good with great history that you dont have words to describe if we think of those.Visiting places which are 2000 years old ,I feel that
there would be something in its air , some wonderful feeling, some sort of pride, honour, something which I cannot describe ,the same feeling when I saw Taj mahal in India.
Beautiful architecture, flawless..not only the great Taj mahal, but even a temple for me and the depictions on the stones like the temples near bangalore halebeedu, Sravana belogola,
temples in warangal, I feel so astonished seeing them , and I just want to wave a big hats off to the sculptors,What a dedication and patience these people would have,What an art they can perform. I seriously envy the people who can draw or paint very well. Its a god given gift which aare truly adorable and perishable.
I dont know how many people are satisfied with the so called white collar jobs... but when you really do with ur inborn talent that is when the real happiness, that feeling of achievement makes our heart jump in the air .
I think the modern world is giving more preference to the architecture of the building as a whole and the interior design more than beautiful sculptures,
it is colors more than the figures which depicted culture of the society.I think, there is a lot of information about our ancestors and their lifestyle in those
pictures and now if our life syle is not depicted , then how will our successors know about us and the way we had live... well these are beyond my thoughts..

In India, we can see a lot of potters, weavers, sculptors in the rural areas where their talent doesnt even feed their stomach full.Sometimes I feel so bad about it.
Here they bring those master pieces and sell them in dollars and make huge profits.

Well a glimpse of our wonders of the world

Happy Holi

Hi I am back again..
This week is a busy week and weekend is full o fun..movie,friends,
good food, barbecue, dumb charades. It is very good.
I think after a long time ,one of my friend brought a grill and everybody sat around it making fire sitting in the chill weather, fighting for the place near fire, I was reminded about my
childhood days where we used to go to my grandmother's village in winter holidays,
get up in the early morning before the fog goes down.As my grandmother had a lot of cattle, there used to be heaps of hay around, we used to grab it make fire and sit around it warming up ourselves till we get a loud shout from my mom to come inside.
Ah! villages in India are the most beautiful parts that too being from coastal areas where there is plenty of water, lot of ponds with lotus flowers, streams, big big green farms, rangolis, bullock carts, sleeping under the moonlight, roses, guava trees, gooseberries..hmmmm...wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that we are grown ups , have lot of responsibilities but still taking time for friends and family members, forget about everybody , we feel good and nice about ourselves. Its good feeling when you think u have somebody to take care of u listen to u and guide u in a proper manner.
I think memories are the God given gift to us which is the only thing which leaves us connected.

Well, Thanks to my neighbors who are extremely friendly who has shown good hospitality including me and my roomie n their big team.

Tomorrow is Holi,I remember the days in our college where we have put a lot of color and my
warden made us clean it, Well that was so embarrassing but memorable fun filled moments..
well now, forget about colors and a holiday, I doubt how many people living here remember it.
Back in India, every festival is so special.. Friends and relatives come home and it used to be so busy and so lively. Here to say hi also, we have to take an appointment of the host before going to their place.

There will be always positive and negative aspects when we are brought up in one kind of culture and we land up in a different one.
If you have good friends and family or at least a strong heart u r rewarded.
But definitely learning is there.. u tend to become strong ,forgive and forget. You grow up from a person where you think he whole world is alike
to a person who sees the world in real and realize that every part of it is different.
Well, everything happens for good.

Have a blasting and safe Holi with Eco-friendly colors..enjoyyyyyyyyy
